I Respect Learning: Be resilient, persist, cooperate will be our expectation for the remainder of the term. With classes finalising assessments, our teachers on planning days, students receiving marks back and Parent Teacher Interviews, this expectation fits nicely. In class, teachers will be unpacking what this looks like in the classroom and at lunchtime using the MSS Positive Behaviour Matrix. Teachers will give reminders and prompts in class and before lunchtimes.
HATS or No HATS? at lunchtimes – students do not need a hat in the library and computers labs. All other play areas require hats.
No Hats 3-6 sit outside the hall/CPA at the tables.
No Hats 1-2 sit in the 1-2 eating area.
No Hats Prep sit in the prep eating area.
Building Resilient Students at MSS - 4Rs – Class and student journeys are well underway. There are lots of positives about student engagement and enjoyment using this program. We will continue to use the language from Zones and Pause to help teach our students to self-regulate.
Unfortunately, there has been a significant increase in vandalism in our toilet blocks during lunch breaks and class time. All classrooms will keep a student movement log to not only track who is using the toilets, but so that we know where students are when they leave the classroom, be it running an errand or getting a drink.
R & C Shop
Time to buy! Lots of students are saving, which is a great skill to learn, however to avoid disappointment, it is best if they purchase now. There are many items in the shop that are not on raincheck, therefore will not be replaced if they run out.
