Welcome all to the new year! Hopefully 2021 will behave itself and our school attendance data will be reflective of students attending school every day! Our school motto remains, EVERYDAY COUNTS and our attendance target is still 95%. Our attendance celebrations in 2021 will focus on the students who attend school 95% and better.
MSS has a new attendance team which includes Mrs Cherene Trimble (HOD-B), Mrs Tracy Marcel (FLO), Ms Fallon Patolo (ARTIE Ambassador), and myself, Mrs Nyree Burton (DP 3/4 and Student Welfare & Wellbeing). We will continue celebrating attendance with our weekly parade certificates.
Our ARTIE Ambassador, Ms Fallon, will work closely with the Brisbane based ARTIE team to improve the attendance of our Indigenous students. ARTIE stands for Achieving Results Through Indigenous Education and MSS is excited to be a part of this great program again in 2021.
Did you know that MSS has the most students on the ARTIE program out of any primary school in Queensland? Cool fact, eh?
If you are struggling to get your child to school, please contact your child's class teacher and have a chat. If your child is coming to school every day (that they are well), they have the opportunity to learn, achieve and succeed. Please speak to a staff member if you need support in this area. Our new MSS Hub is a great place to start if you need assistance.
Wishing you a fabulous 2021!
