I Respect Safety: Right place, right time.

We will be walking through the school with students discussing what the right place and time actually looks like.  In the classroom this will look like teachers working with students on the differences between different activities and what they look like, feel like and sound like, along with the time and place for different noise levels, different opportunities to move as well as different styles of teaching and learning.

A few little reminders for our students:

  • Year 1 students can access Year 2/3 toilets during lunch breaks as they are much closer
  • Z Block Veranda: Is a designated walkway for Year 3-6 students.

NOTE: Areas with arrows are student accessible walkways

Zones of Regulation (part of social and emotional learning)

The Zones of Regulation (ZoR) is a curriculum designed to foster self-regulation and emotional control.

  • It is a proactive, skills-based approach.
  • It is a cognitive pathway to follow for regulation.
  • It flexes and adapts for most learners and settings.

Teachers can adapt the themes to suit their classroom theme or student's interest. There are a multitude of resources available from Harry Potter, Star Wars, Inside Out, Lego, Pokémon etc. We are implementing ZoR throughout the middle and upper school, as a PBL Team we have discussed what the displays will look like in classrooms. To keep it consistent throughout the school the colours will be required to go in this order:

Horizontal from left to right: Blue, Green, Yellow, Red.

Vertical from bottom to top: Blue, Green Yellow, Red (like a thermometer)

R & C Shop

Unfortunately, we have not had all of our new merchandise arrive for the R & C Shop.  We are hoping to have all fully stocked by the end of week 7 with a catalogue out in every classroom and an electronic version sent home.
