This week we will continue with I Respect Me and You – Hands off! Feet off! as our focus expectation. Staff are giving lots of reminders to students before breaks so that it is fresh in their minds as they are leaving for lunch. Rough play is definitely included in Hands off! Feet off! What starts as a game for a lot of students often does not end so well. This also links with what our hearts are feeling (Zones of Regulation) and what those feelings make our brain do (Pause Process). Students having an understanding of both of these aspects of themselves and others will always reduce the likelihood of conflict.
Respect & Collect Shop
Lots of students have started to purchase and others are saving for the big-ticket items.
For every 10 PayWay tickets earned, students receive one ticket into a draw to win a bike. This will be drawn on Monday of Week 10 at a full school parade. It is amazing to see the totals that some of our students have already received.
Who knew that glow-in-the-dark slime and a little creepy crawly spider thing would be so popular in our Respect & Collect Shop? These two items have become hard to get our hands on. We will continue to try again next term to source them – fingers crossed.
High Expectations & PayWay Guide
Our PBL Team have been busy creating a guide for all staff, explaining what MSS High Expectations are and what deserves a PayWay token. Click here[MC(1] to read the outline of the document. Classroom teachers have taken the time to ensure that students have an understanding of this document.
