MSS will be focusing on “I Respect Me & You – Hands off! Feet off!" for the next few week. In class and in the playgroud, staff and students will be practising the Pause Process to help us stay in the Green Zone. When learning about Hands off! Feet off! This extends to hitting each other with hats, sticks and throwing objects at others. Some classes will role play senarios while others will view little clips on how to deal with different situtions from accidentaly bumping into someone and appoligising, disagreeing with someone to the extent of going out of their way to intentionally hurt someone. At MSS there are many different consequences; for example, timeout in the classroom, buddy class, loss of privlidges, conact/meetings with parenets and in some cases suspensions.
Is It Bullying?
The Bullying 'NO Way' National Day is in August this year not March. We will call to action on this day with our Nation, but in the mean time MSS staff and students will be using the website. For parents there are bundles of resources and information found on: https://bullyingnoway.gov.au/teaching-about-bullying/talking-about-bullying
R & C ShopThe Hub team have been busy placing orders to fill the shop for the year. In the meantime, classes have been busy banking. Prep C was our first Prep class to bank this year with two students navigating all the way from their classrooms to the Hub by themselves! This year will see a number of changes to the PayWay system that will see some big-ticket items up for grabs thought the year. Mr Ronnie has already banked over 2000 PayWay. Once the stock arrive a catalogue will be out!
