PBL Update
As we see our Year 6's off on camp and our teachers engaging in planning days for Term 4 we move to: I Respect Me & You: Respect people, property, places.
This will see classroom teachers explicitly teaching what respect is and what it is to respect people, property and places. At MSS we look at respecting as the feeling of deep admiration of someone or something, as a result of their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Hence, respect is a way of treating or thinking about something or someone. If you respect a person you treat them well and they will treat you the same. If you respect their belongings, they will respect yours.
Reporting Issues
If a student is having problems the MSS process to follow is:
- Playground issues need to be immediately reported to the staff members on duty in that area
- In class issues need to be reported to the classroom teacher who is teaching the class at that time
- If your student reports issues to you at home, the first point of call is the classroom teacher
- All academic and/or learning concerns are directed to the classroom teacher
Please discuss what this looks like at school – it may be different from school to home, but this is the MSS way and the discourse that MSS expects while at school and representing MSS.
