I Respect Learning: Be confident, organised, on time
Allowing our students to grow in confidence with learning means that we need to provide opportunities for students to risk take, feel comfortable with their learning and help them to grow their knowledge and curiosity. Classroom across MSS have a wide range of tools to do this through different types of teaching approaches this varies from Inquiry based learning, Project Learning to Problem based learning. Helping students to be organised and on time is a valuable life skill. Students work with staff to choose reachable goals in this area that help them achieve better learning outcome.

Social and Emotional Learning: Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationship (4Rs or RRRR)
As well as teaching academic skills, it is part of the core business of schools to promote student resilience, wellbeing and positive social attitudes. One way that MSS is helping to can achieve this is through the teaching of evidence-based programs that explicitly foster personal and social capabilities. Explicit efforts to provide Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) opportunities is recognised as a key part of this work. SEL is the process through which children and young people build and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to:
• Understand and manage emotions
• Set and achieve positive goals
• Feel and express empathy
• Establish and maintain positive relationships
• Make responsible decisions
• Develop resilience to deal with change
• Create positive gender norms
