I would like to introduce myself as the school Guidance Officer. I am 
thrilled to return to Mareeba State School, my home shire, after working further south and in Cairns last year.
As your Guidance Officer I work with staff, and parents and carers, often in conjunction with specialists and other community agencies to ensure educational access and participation in school life for all students. Students can be supported by the Guidance Officer i nthe areas of learning, behaviour and social-emotional development. Referrals to the Guidance Officer are made through the school office.
I very much look forward to meeting many of you over the course of the coming year.
