The interview takes 15 minutes and is for the parent/s and student to attend. It is a fantastic opportunity to ask any questions you have about Prep and Mareeba State School, and for our staff to get to know your child and their specific needs. You will receive a confirmation text message on the day prior to your interview booking.
3. Attend Prep Transition Program Events
The aim of our Prep Transition Program is to give you some insight into Prep at Mareeba State School. The program provides parents and carers with the opportunity to learn about many innovative and explicit programs that are aimed not only at engaging our students, but also at improving their educational outcomes. The Transition Program consists of the Prep 4 Prep program and Step Up Day.
Prep 4 Prep is a weekly information session for parents and carers of 2024 Prep students, run over several weeks, starting on Wednesday 9th October with our Teddy Bear's Picnic. Each week there is a different focus, and while parents are attending their session, the 2024 Prep students get to spend time in the classroom and become more familiar with their new school environment. Step Up Day (formerly known as Transition Day) will also be held in Term 4. Attending Step Up Day will help to introduce your child to our school.
