Fancy Dress Ball
Mareeba State School, along with the P&C, hold a Fancy Dress Ball for all students and families every second year. Many families enjoy engaging with the school community at this fun and entertaining event. The competition to win the 'best costume' is hotly contested every year.
School Fete
The P&C holds the school fete every two years (alternating with the Fancy Dress Ball). This event is a major fundraiser for our school. Monies raised go directly to students at our school through facilities and curriculum support.
This school event is open to all of the Mareeba community and is well supported by community residents and local businesses. The fireworks display to finish the fete has become a highlight for everyone.
Under 8's Day
Under 8's Week is an annual event that has been proudly running in Queensland for over sixty years and is coordinated by Early Childhood Australia, Queensland Branch. Mareeba State School hosts an annual Under 8's Day event every year on the last Thursday of Term 3. Our event involves cluster schools, local day care centres, community organisations, community children who are under 8 years of age and MSS Prep to Year 3 students. This valuable community event has been running for many years and often attracts in excess of 600 participants.
