The end of the year does not slow down learning in Year 4! We are busy exploring the wonderfully creative world of advertising, learning all the tricks of the trade to persuade consumers. We are creating our very own, eye-catching, slogan slinging cereal boxes along with a persuasive spiel that will convince consumers to buy.
The fun continues as we spend Science lessons investigating fast forces in toys and games. Our games brought out many competitive souls as they raced their Friction Frogs up the different textured strings and raced their Paperclip Formula Ones around the magnetic racing tracks.
HASS has had us engage with the community to investigate sustainability with a particular focus on the management of waste in the local school and local communities. We invited Ms Amy Yates, who manages waste in the Mareeba Shire, to talk to us about sustainable waste management. She was very informative and inspiring. Following this, 4A held an exciting, informative Q&A session with members of the local school and council. See the special report by 4A below.
