Curriculum Update

Term 3 has been filled with lots of exciting activities and there are many more to come.

Parent/Teacher/Student interviews will be conducted after school on Monday, September 16th and Tuesday, September 17th.  Teachers will be sending home more information regarding this during the upcoming week.  These interviews are a wonderful opportunity for teachers, parents and students to talk together about how students are progressing at school and what they can do to keep progress going.

Teachers and students will be spending the next couple of weeks finalising assessment tasks and completing activities in preparation for these interviews.  It is important for students to attend school every day so an accurate picture of their progress can be communicated.

The annual Mareeba State School Art Show will be held from Monday, September 16th - Thursday September 19th.  The official opening takes place at 2pm on Monday, September 16th in the library.  Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.  The Art Show will be open until 5.00pm on Monday and Tuesday (September 16th & 17th).  Please feel free to pop in and have a look before or after your interview.

Under 8's Day will occur on Thursday, September 19th from 9.00 - 11.00am.  This year Under 8's Day will take place underneath Z Block - the new Prep building.  All Mareeba State School students from Prep - Year 3 will attend as well as other children (who are under eight years of age) from local school, kindergartens and day cares.  We always welcome volunteers to assist on this day.  If you would like to lend a hand please look out for a note that will be sent home shortly.

We look foward to seeing lots of you at these wonderful events.

- Valerie Dayes (HoC Prep-2) & Nadine Apps (HoC 3-6)
