Student Learning Cafes

Student Learning Cafes are held every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8:30am in the library.  Please remind your children to come along and practise their reading to get a cup of Milo.  They will be rewarded with a cupcake on their tenth visit.  Volunteers to listen to the students read are always welcome!

Our final Reading Cafe for 2018 will occur on Thursday, November 29th.  We look forward to starting the Student Reading Cafe up again in week 2 of term 1, 2019.

Report Cards
Written report cards will be sent home with each student on Wednesday, December 12th.  Please ask your child for their report card on this day.  If you would like to have a meeting with your child's teacher regarding their report card, please organise an appointment time with them.

Students are assessed and reported on in a 5 point scale for the Australian National Curriculum areas of English, Maths, Science and HASS (History or Geography years 5 & 6) and  HPE, Music/Drama/Drama and LOTE – AUSLAN (years 5 & 6).
If any families are leaving school prior to this date due to holidays, let the class teacher know as this may affect assessment tasks.

Whole school transition day
The whole school transition day will be held on Wednesday 5th
December, from 12pm to 1:20pm.  Students will spend this session with their 2019 teacher and class.  This is a great opportunity for
the teacher to get to know the students.

Moderation
All teachers will be moderating on Monday November 26th from 3:00 to 4:30pm.  They will engage in moderation after school where they compare judgments to either confirm or adjust assessment tasks.  The process involves close collaboration to establish a shared understanding of what achievement of a standard looks like and whether or not a student has demonstrated achievement of a standard. - Nadine Apps & Valerie Dayes (Head of Curriculum)
