Curriculum News

One of our volunteers reading to students at Reading Cafe in the library.

We are quickly approaching the end of a very busy first term of school.  Teachers and students will be spending the next few weeks completing assessment tasks.

Parent/Teacher/Student interviews are to be conducted on Monday, March 26th and Tuesday, March 27th.  These interviews are a wonderful opportunity for teachers, parents and students to talk together about how students are progressing at school and what they can do to keep progress going.

The Life Education Van has arrived at school.  Students from Prep - Year 6 have the opportunity to attend a session.  These sessions form part of the Health curriculum so we encourage all students to attend.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who have attended one of the Reading Workshops this term.  We enjoy spreading the message that reading is important and that continuing to read to your children, no matter their age, is one of the main things parents can do to foster a love of reading with their children.  Look out for information about numeracy workshops that we will be conducting during term 2.

The Reading Cafe has seen many, many students coming to practise their reading on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  Reading Cafe is now finished for term 1 and will resume in term 2.  The Book Fair will be held in the library this week.  It will be open before school, during both lunchtimes and after school.  We look forward to seeing many parents and students in the library.
