Attendance Report

31/01/2018

Welcome back to another exciting year at MSS!  This year we are focusing on tracking and monitoring attendance to ensure that students are reaching the school target of 95%.  As with previous years, we will use the Everyday Counts resources and strategies to encourage students to come to school.

Each term there will be a celebration for students who meet the 95% attendance target.  We will also commend the students who reach 100% attendance.  Every classroom teacher will continue to track the attendance of students.  We annouce our weekly 95% attendnace classes on parade and present them with class certificates, and at the end of the term, the class with the highest overall attendance for term 1 will take part in a special celebration.

Another job that Marcia Koolatah (Family Liaison Officer - FLO) and I do is track the students who have attendance that is low, or less than 85%.  We work with teachers, students, families and agencies to improve student attendance so every child in every classroom is learning, succeeding and achieving at MSS.  We also need to know that every student in our school is safe and well if they are not at school, so it is important that all absences are explained.

If you are having any issues with getting your children to school for any reason, please contact myself or Marcia on 4092 8100.  Have a great year!  Everyday counts.
